Fire Chief Rick E. Davis

Rick E. Davis joined the team at Sherrills Ford Terrell Fire & Rescue on October 22nd, 2012 as the Fire Chief.  Rick has been in the fire service for 31 years and served as a member of the Hickory Fire Department since August 1, 1985.   He retired as Battalion Chief over the Training Division with the Hickory Fire Department.  In 2009, Davis graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management. Additionally, he has an Associate's Degree in Fire Protection Technology and received his designation in 2010 as an Emergency Management Master Exercise Practitioner (EMMEP) through the Emergency Management Institute. In 2006, he completed the Executive Fire Officer program through the National Fire Academy. He is also working to complete additional emergency management courses as well as teaches curriculum courses in Emergency Management and Fire Protection Technology at the community college level.  He is certified in the following areas:  Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), NC State Level III Fire Officer, NC State Level II Fire Instructor, NC State Live Burn Instructor, NC State Level II Firefighter, NC Emergency Medical Technician, NC Chief 101 Instructor, NC Fire Officer I, II, and III Instructor, Incident Command System Instructor, and serves as a member of the NC Emergency Management Western Branch All-Hazards Incident Management Team and holds National Incident Management System credentials as an All-Hazards Type III Safety Officer and All-hazards Type III Public Information Officer.
