North Carolina Forest Service (Burn Permit)

Our paid staff here at Sherrills Ford – Terrell Fire & Rescue would be glad to  issue a burn permit to anyone wishing to obtain one for any legal fire. If you are a citizen of our fire district, you may come by our Headquarters  station located on Slanting Bridge Road and one of our staff members, if available, will assist you.  

Please be mindful that we may be responding to emergency calls or out of the station. There may be times where our staff members are on an emergency call and not at the station to greet you. The duration of time that fire department personnel are gone varies significantly depending on the circumstance, so please make note of this when visiting.

Burn permits can also be submitted electronically through the North Carolina Forest Service website. You can access this website by clicking on the NC Forest Service patch, located below. The NC Forest Service website allows you to fill out and print off burn permits electronically.

Please call Catawba County Communications Administration at 828-464-3112. Once you obtain an online burning permit please call prior to burning and provide us with your name/address to prevent passer-bys from calling in a smoke report to 911.
